No wonder there are so many people in this world that believe religion is the root of all evil:
Earlier this week I complained about printing photos from Linux on my inkjet. Most folks told me to use a regular photo place for printing my pictures NOT an inkjet. What I didn’t mention in the post was the reason I was even bothering to print them on my inkjet. I needed 3 pictures for my son’s homework and it was too late to take them to CVS or other photo place. My frustration was that in most cases Linux just works for me, this was not one of those cases though. I usually just upload my pictures to smugmug.com and I use their printing service for my photos.
Tonight I lost the battle with printing a picture from Fedora 9 to my Canon S750 color inkjet. The problem wasn’t that it would not print, but it would print the picture way to dark and very slow. After spending almost 2 hours trying various things and drivers, I punted and booted up my crusty old Windows XP partition. Printed it right in 10 minutes. Damn I hate when that happens because I NEVER need freakin Windows.
Maybe I’ll dig a little deeper when I’m not tired and annoyed at the computer.

My favorite car of all time has always been the 1969 Chevy Camaro. I’ve always thought that the perfect car would be a first generation Camaro with today’s engine technology and transmission. This new revival of the Camaro is an excellent rendition and one of the better retro cars available today.

This year, we decided to spend 4th of July in Maryland (just outside of Washington, DC). We plan on cooking out and watching the fireworks from the back deck (I’ll post pictures tomorrow).
Also, if you don’t have young kids, I recommend at least once spending the 4th of July on the Mall in Washington, DC. Take a cooler, blanket, sunscreen, and patience. 
Spend the entire day drinking, sunning, and enjoying the music and festivities. At the end you’ll be rewarded to an excellent fireworks display with accompanying music.
